Mark, Darren, Andy, Karen, myself and Sue having a well earned rest in the rain forest on day one. This was by far the easiest day as we were under 3,000m.
It gave us an opportunity to learn each others names as we could talk as we walked!!
Spinal Research is dedicated to funding research into repairing damaged spinal cords and restoring feeling and movement to those paralysed by spinal cord injury. Pioneering projects funded by the charity are making incredible progress. However with no direct government funding, it is only thanks to support from people like you that they can continue supporting this work. I hope that one day, through the groundbreaking work of Spinal Research, that Stewart my 21 year old son will regain the use of his legs again after being paralysed in a motorbike accident on 9/11/06. I should be one day away from reaching the top of Kilimanjaro on his 22nd birthday - 26/8/09.
I can hardly believe that I'm finally heading for the summit of Kilimanjaro, it's been my goal/dream since 1998 when, after breaking my back in a horrific car accident and causing substantial damage to my left foot, my physiotherapist decided I needed to set myself a goal to focus on and start walking again.
